Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris was born on October 20 1964. She is an American politician. She is both the first female vice president and the highest-ranking female official of the United America. Harris is a member of the Democratic Party and was previously the attorney general of California between 2011 and 2017. In addition she served as the United States senator representing California between 2017 and 2021. Harris was born in Oakland and attended Howard University, University of California, Hastings College of the Law. After establishing her career as an Alameda County District Attorney, Harris was hired to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. Then she was appointed the City Attorney of San Francisco. In 2003 she was elected district attorney for San Francisco. Harris was elected Attorney general of California in 2010. In 2014, she won re-election. Harris was the junior United States Senate from California from 2017-2021. Harris beat Loretta Santiago in the 2016 Senate election, becoming the second African American woman to serve in Congress , and the only South Asian American American to do so in the United States Senate. As Senator, Harris was a vocal advocate for healthcare, federal de-scheduling and the legalization of cannabis, a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants and the DREAM Act which bans assault weapons. Her name is well-known due to her direct questioning of Trump government officials during Senate hearings.
