Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. The Corcoran Group is a New York City-based real estate brokerage. In 2001, it was transferred to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran quit the firm shortly thereafter. Corcoran is among ABC's initial Shark Tank investors. Since her inception she has appeared in every season of Shark Tank. Corcoran has been involved in 53 deals as of February, 2020. The most significant was a $350,000 investment to pay for 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second of 10 children born to an Irish Catholic couple of working class located in Edgewater, New Jersey. Florence Corcoran was Florence's mother and also a housekeeper. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. moved from job to job during Corcoran's childhood. Her family often relied on the free food delivery from a nearby supermarket. Corcoran claims her father was a drunk who was rude to her mother and condescension. Corcoran was a struggle in school and later learned that she had dyslexia. Corcoran was a student at a local Catholic elementary school, and then began the high school system in St. Cecilia High School in Englewood. Corcoran dropped a few classes during her first year, and then transferred to Leonia High School where she was a D student.
